Knowledge alone does not guarantee understanding, trust or action. This poster proposes a shift from communication as information transfer to communication as a core dimension of Ocean Literacy, connecting knowledge, awareness, attitudes, activism, behaviour, emotions (Emocean), access and experience, and trust and transparency. It shows how OCEAN CITIZEN activates this communication dimension through multiple entry points that connect science and society: storytelling (comic), exploring (StoryMap), learning (MOOC and resources), participating (citizen science) and acting (restoration and capacity building).
