The University of Galway is a research-led university on the Atlantic coast of Ireland. One of its five strategic research priorities is in Environment, Marine and Energy. Within the Ryan Institute, the University of Galway’s multi-disciplinary research institute for advancing sustainability, the Centre for Ocean Exploration seeks to advance knowledge of the ocean and its interactions with the land, atmosphere, and society. Our academics engage in interdisciplinary research in marine and coastal systems throughout the world, embracing the UN Sustainable Development Goals in support of national and international strategic priorities.
